Abdul Samad Rabiu, chairman of BUA Group, has pledged 500,000 dollars to Nigeria’s Super Eagles if they defeat hosts Morocco in their AFCON 2025 semifinal.
The business magnate made the promise on Saturday, shortly after Nigeria’s 2–0 quarterfinal win over Algeria at Grand Stade de Marrakech.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria. You have lifted the spirit of the nation,” Rabiu wrote in a message shared on X and Facebook, before promising a major financial boost if they reach the final. He committed 500,000 dollars to be paid to the squad if they win the semifinal, plus an extra 50,000 dollars for every goal scored.
Rabiu went even further by promising 1 million dollars should Nigeria go on to lift the trophy, along with an additional 100,000 dollars for each goal scored in the final itself.
His pledge comes as confidence grows around the Super Eagles after Victor Osimhen’s header and Akor Adams’ composed finish sealed a convincing victory over Algeria, setting up a high‑stakes clash with Morocco on Wednesday at Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.
