English outfit AFC Sunderland are interested in signing France-born defender of Cameroonian descent, Sacha Boey.
According to the Sunderland Echo, the 24-year-old has emerged as a key target for the Black Cats as they continue their aggressive summer recruitment campaign.
Boey joined Bayern from Galatasaray in January 2024 for around €30 million but has struggled to make a lasting impact due to injuries and inconsistent performances.
Despite his potential, Boey has yet to meet the high expectations placed on him by the Bayern hierarchy. With the Bundesliga giants actively reshaping their squad, the defender’s future in Munich is now uncertain.
Sunderland, who have already spent over €140 million this summer, including marquee signings like Granit Xhaka see Boey as a valuable addition to their defensive setup ahead of the 2025/26 season.
However, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany reportedly still has faith in Boey and could push to keep him in the squad.
It will take an enticing bid to force Bayern Munich to sanction the transfer of Sacha Boey.
