Achraf Hakimi continues recovery with individual training at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has returned to individual training as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury sustained during the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, the club has confirmed.

The Moroccan right-back, who was forced off late in the 5-4 first-leg victory, has been working separately on the pitch as he steps up his rehabilitation programme ahead of a crucial period in PSG’s season.

In a statement, the club also confirmed that several other players are currently undergoing treatment. “Hakimi is doing individual work on the field, while William Pacho, Nuno Mendes and Warren Zaïre-Emery continue their treatment,” it said.

Hakimi has already missed PSG’s recent fixtures, including the second leg in Munich as well as the Ligue 1 match against Brest, as the club manage his recovery carefully.

PSG remain hopeful that the Morocco international will be available for the Champions League final, scheduled for May 30 in Budapest against Arsenal, although no definitive return date has yet been confirmed.

The 26-year-old, who also captains the Moroccan national team, was present on Monday evening at the 34th UNFP Trophies ceremony in France. He was named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season, which was heavily dominated by PSG players.

Among his club teammates, Ousmane Dembélé was voted Ligue 1 Player of the Year for a second consecutive season, while Désiré Doué was awarded Best Young Player for the second year running.

Hakimi’s injury occurred in the closing stages of the dramatic first-leg semi-final win over Bayern Munich, a match that ended 5-4 in PSG’s favour and set up their progression to the final.

His absence has been felt in recent matches, with PSG managing his workload carefully in the hope he will return in time for the decisive European fixture. The club’s medical staff continue to assess his progress as preparations intensify for the final in Budapest.
