Al Ittihad Alexandria have completed the transfer of Abu Bakr Lyadi to Montakhab El Suez Petrojet, with the Egyptian club also preparing to make a Ghanaian right-back their final signing of the summer.

Mohamed Ahmed Salama confirmed to FilGoal.com that the necessary release documents for Lyadi had been sent to Montakhab El Suez Petrojet.

“The release document for the player Abu Bakr Lyadi has been sent to Montakhab El Suez Petrojet,” Salama said.

He added: “A right-back from Ghana will be signed as Al Ittihad Alexandria’s final deal this summer.”

The move completes an agreement that had previously been reported by FilGoal.com, with Montakhab El Suez Petrojet reaching an arrangement to sign the 23-year-old from Al Ittihad Alexandria.

Lyadi can play either as a right-back or on the right wing. He has been playing in the Egyptian league since January 2022, when he joined Smouha.

During his time with Smouha, Lyadi made 60 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and providing three assists. He moved to Al Ittihad Alexandria last season and featured 26 times across all competitions, contributing to six goals.

The Nigerian scored two goals and created four more during his spell with Al Ittihad Alexandria.

The departure comes after Al Ittihad Alexandria completed an extensive recruitment campaign ahead of the new season. The club have made 17 signings during the current summer transfer window.

Among their arrivals are Mido Mostafa from Smouha, Mohamed Fakhry from Pharco FC and striker Hossam Hassan from Modern Sport. Khaled Masad, Abdelrahman Hesham and Ahmed El Shazly have also joined the club.

Al Ittihad Alexandria have further strengthened their squad with right-back Moamen Awad from Haras El Hodoud, while defender Moataz Mohamed arrived from Al Ahly on a free transfer. Ahmed Hamdy was signed from Zamalek and Ahmed El Araby joined from Ghazl El Mahalla.

The club also recruited Ugandan midfielder Kenneth Semakula to add strength in the middle of the pitch.

Their most recent group of arrivals included goalkeeper Ali El Gabry from Ceramica Cleopatra, along with Ceramica Cleopatra players Nouraa Alaa and Mohamed Toni. Al Ittihad Alexandria also signed El Habib Ahmed Hassan from Smouha and ZED FC defender Islam Abdelilah on loan.

A number of players have left the club during the summer, including Karim El Deeb, Mahmoud Shabana, goalkeeper Mahmoud Abdel Rahim “Gennesh”, Abdelghany Mohamed, Amr Khalil, Amr Gomaa, Mohamed Metwally “Kanarya” and Christovao Mabululo.

The draw for the Egyptian league is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at 15:00.
