Abdoulaye Touré, the Franco-Guinean midfielder currently plying his trade at Le Havre, reflected on his journey from Genoa to the Norman club, his ambitions, and his perspective on football.

After two challenging seasons with Genoa, Touré made the decisive choice to join Le Havre, newly promoted to Ligue 1. His decision proved fruitful, as he became an integral part of the team’s midfield.

Speaking candidly about his move, Touré explained, “It was a bit of a complicated situation in Italy… I wanted to find a project where I could flourish, where I could relaunch myself.”

Despite initial setbacks in Italy, Touré found solace in Le Havre’s coherent project and welcoming atmosphere. “I was very well received… It showed directly in the results,” he remarked.

His adaptability and versatile playing style have earned him a prominent role in the squad, with consistent performances and full match involvements since his arrival.

Regarding his relationship with the coaching staff and teammates, Touré emphasized his adaptability and the positive dynamics within the team.

“I am someone who adapts to any systems or any players… I get along well with everyone,” he said.

Reflecting on his experience at Le Havre, Touré expressed satisfaction with his personal progress and the team’s performance.

“I didn’t expect to play so quickly… I’m really happy because it shows… that it wasn’t a question of level when I wasn’t playing abroad,” he shared.

However, despite their promising start to the season, Le Havre has faced a recent downturn in form. Touré acknowledged the challenges but remained optimistic.

“It’s not a question of level, it is on the small details that we are fooled or that we are punished… we must erase these small errors,” he emphasized.

Looking ahead, Touré emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and unity to secure their position in the league. “It’s up to us to take as many points as possible… and to please our supporters,” he stated.

As for his personal aspirations, Touré remains driven to learn and improve. “I know in which areas I need to improve… I am someone who is eager to learn,” he affirmed.

With his contract running until 2025, Touré remains open to future opportunities but is content with his current situation.

“If an opportunity presents itself to me, I will study it… but if I do a second season here, it will be with great pleasure,” he concluded.

Abdoulaye Touré’s journey from Italy to France exemplifies resilience and determination, embodying the spirit of continuous growth and adaptation in football.
