The Spanish press reserved significant attention for the Moroccan international Ibrahim Diaz, a Real Madrid player, upon his arrival yesterday, Monday, at Rabat-Sale International Airport.
In a special article about Ibrahim Diaz, the Spanish newspaper “AS” noted the grand reception given to him in Morocco.
The newspaper indicated that Diaz is expected to wear his favorite number “10” jersey in his debut match with the “Atlas Lions” next Friday against Angola at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir.
Furthermore, it suggested that Diaz would become a new hero for the Moroccan Royal Football Federation and the “Atlas Lions,” highlighting Morocco’s upcoming significant events, notably the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and the 2030 World Cup, noting that Ibrahim would lead the national team during these international competitions.
The same source confirmed that Diaz was delighted with the reception he received in Rabat, reminiscent of one given to stars.
It added that Moroccan fans were thrilled by the arrival of the Real Madrid player.
The Spanish newspaper also discussed the upcoming competitions awaiting Diaz with the Moroccan national team, including matches against Zambia (June 3) and Congo (June 6) as part of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
It’s worth noting that the Moroccan national team players gathered at the Mohammed VI Sports Complex starting Monday morning in preparation for the friendly matches against Angola and Mauritania.
