A source close to the matter informed Hesport that a difference in viewpoints was behind the departure of national coach Issam El Sharaei, the coach of the Moroccan national Olympic football team, and his replacement by coach Tarik Sektioui.
The same source explained that El Sharaei had engaged in disputes with Walid Rekraki, the coach of the Moroccan national team, prompting the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to part ways with him.
In a statement, the Football Federation affirmed that “this change is part of the new approach of the National Teams Committee, which emphasizes coordination and communication among the technical staff of all national teams,” hinting at what Hesport sources had previously indicated.
El Sharaei had led the under-23 national team to victory in the recent edition of the Africa Cup of Nations held in the kingdom, securing qualification for the upcoming Olympic Games in the French capital, Paris.
