Al Ahly’s dominance: the history of matches against Young Africans of Tanzania
Today, the first football team of Al Ahly Club will host the Young Africans team from Tanzania at Cairo International Stadium for the sixth and final round of the group stage matches of the CAF Champions League.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM local time in Cairo, 7:00 PM Saudi Arabia time.

History of Al Ahly vs. Young Africans Matches:
The two teams have played eleven matches over six encounters in the history of their meetings in African club competitions, all in the CAF Champions League, both old and new.
Al Ahly won six matches, lost one, and drew four, scoring nineteen goals and conceding five.
1982: Round of 16
The first encounter took place in 1982.
Al Ahly won the first leg 5-0, with goals from Jamal Abdelhamid (2), Sherif Abdelmonem, Magdy Abdelghany, and Magdy Imam. The second leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
1988: Round of 32
In 1988, the teams drew 0-0 in the first leg and Al Ahly won the second leg 4-0, with Ayman Shawky scoring twice and Alaa Abdel Sadek and Rabie Yassin each scoring once.
2009: Round of 32
Al Ahly won the first leg 3-0, with goals from Mohamed Barakat (2) and Flavio Amado. In the second leg, Al Ahly won 1-0.
2014: Round of 32
Young Africans won the first leg 1-0, and Al Ahly won the second leg 1-0, forcing a penalty shootout that Al Ahly won 4-3.
2016: Round of 16
The teams drew 1-1 in the first leg, and Al Ahly won the second leg 2-1.
Tonight’s match marks their sixth encounter in the group stage of the 2023-2024 season. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
Both teams have advanced to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League from Group Four.
