The players of Al Ahly SC experienced an unexpected delay in their arrival at Kumasi, eventually landing on Thursday, February 22, 2024. The journey from Accra, where the team spent the previous night, was marred by disruptions that altered their initial schedule.

Originally scheduled to arrive in Kumasi on February 21, 2024, the Egyptian club’s delegation faced flight-related challenges, compelling an overnight stay in the Ghanaian capital.

Despite the unexpected hiccup, the players, along with the technical staff, regrouped and successfully landed in Kumasi this morning, ready to embark on their Champions League clash against the Ghanaian side Medeama.

The Red Devils touched down in southern Ghana less than an hour after departing from Accra airport, landing before 11 am GMT.

This unforeseen delay prompted a swift adjustment of plans for Marcel Koller and his squad as they prepare for the crucial match scheduled for February 23, 2024.

However, Al Ahly has also submitted a formal request to the Confederation of African Football, seeking a possible postponement of the match.

The request stems from the disruptions encountered during the team’s journey on Wednesday.

The complexities of international travel and the need for optimal preparation ahead of a significant fixture underscore the challenges faced by football clubs participating in continental competitions.

As Al Ahly settles into Kumasi, fans eagerly await the outcome of both the match and the decision regarding a potential rescheduling, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the upcoming CAF Champions League clash.
