Mohamed Salah scores as Trabzonspor extend winning run to six matches

Trabzonspor continued their perfect start under manager Thomas Reis with a 2-0 victory over Alanyaspor in the 11th round of the Turkish league, with Mohamed Salah featuring for 89 minutes and scoring the second goal.

The result marked Trabzonspor’s sixth consecutive league win. Their German manager Reis has won every league match since taking charge, making his opening spell at the club an ideal one.

Wagner Pina put Trabzonspor ahead in the 17th minute after breaking clear of the Alanyaspor defence and finishing with a low shot past the goalkeeper.

Salah doubled the advantage in the 34th minute. The Egypt international produced an impressive piece of skill to beat a defender before shooting into the net.

The goal took Salah’s tally in the Turkish league to nine, putting him level with Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen in the division’s scoring standings. Amedspor striker Gift Orban leads the chart with 10 goals.

Salah has now made a direct contribution to 16 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions this season. The 34-year-old has scored 11 times and provided five assists.

Trabzonspor’s latest win lifted them to 25 points and second place in the Turkish league table. Alanyaspor remain on 12 points in 13th position.
