Real Madrid could face punishment after Jude Bellingham and Antonio Rudiger were reported to have assaulted security staff during a confrontation in the tunnel at half-time of their match against Valencia.
The game developed into one of the most heated encounters in La Liga after a first-half clash involving Valencia player Maffeo and full-back Marc Cucurella sparked a mass confrontation.
According to Sport, the incident continued after referee Hernandez Maeso blew for half-time and directed the players towards the dressing-room tunnel. The most serious exchanges reportedly took place away from the television cameras.
Nacho Sanchez of A Punt said Bellingham and Rudiger were among the Real Madrid players involved in the altercation.
“Here are more details about the confrontation in the dressing-room tunnel,” Sanchez said. “Bellingham struck a member of the security staff, while Rudiger slapped another security official. The security staff went to the referee, who recorded everything that had happened.”
Sanchez added: “This incident is expected to appear in the referee’s report after the match because the security staff told him what had happened, and he wrote down all the details.”
The account also alleges that Eder Militao and Bellingham entered the tunnel directing insulting remarks at Valencia’s players, further escalating the situation.
The referee’s report will now be important in determining whether disciplinary action follows. Hernandez Maeso already has statements from the security officials who were allegedly targeted during the incident.
The match had already been marked by tension before the half-time whistle, with the strong challenge by Maffeo on Cucurella triggering the initial confrontation between the two teams. However, the reported events in the tunnel could prove more significant because they involved security personnel and were brought directly to the referee’s attention.
The original information also lists Valencia against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on 10 November 2026 at Tavernes de la Valldigna, as well as a La Liga fixture between Valencia and Real Madrid on 21 November 2026. Celta Vigo is also listed in the same fixture information.
