Inter target historic home record as Como seek first win over Cesc Fabregas’ former side
Inter Milan host Como on Sunday, 08 November 2026, aiming to extend a remarkable run against their Lombardy rivals in Serie A.
According to Opta, Inter have won their past 11 league meetings with Como – the longest sequence of victories they have recorded against any opponent in the competition’s history. Como have also lost more Serie A matches against Inter than any other team, with 21 defeats.
Como manager Cesc Fabregas has never beaten Inter in six meetings, losing five and drawing one.
Inter’s home record in this fixture is even stronger. After losing their first home league match against Como in 1950, they won each of the next 14. They have also kept eight clean sheets in their past nine home games against them.
Only three teams have recorded longer winning runs at home against a single opponent in Serie A: Fiorentina won 16 consecutive home matches against Cagliari, Lazio did the same against Triestina, and Milan won 15 in a row against Cagliari.
Inter’s last league match ended a 19-game unbeaten run, during which they won 13 and drew six, when they were beaten by Milan. They have not lost consecutive Serie A games since August and September 2025, when they were defeated by Udinese and Juventus.
They have won all five of their home league matches this season, scoring 17 goals. A sixth successive home victory would match an achievement previously reached only in the 1937-38, 1950-51, 1953-54 and 1979-80 seasons.
Inter have scored more than 17 goals in their opening six home league matches only twice in the past 60 years, registering 18 in both 1999-2000 and 2021-22.
Como have made their own strong start. Their 23 points from 10 matches – seven wins, two draws and one defeat – are a club record at this stage of a top-flight season, surpassing their previous best of 17.
They have scored 18 goals, also beating their previous record for the opening 10 games. In the 1949-50 and 1950-51 seasons, Como did not reach that total before the 12th round.
Their away form has improved too. Como have won four, drawn one and lost one of their first six away league matches this season, surpassing their previous best at this stage, set in 2025-26 when they had won twice.
Both teams have made 81 high ball recoveries in Serie A this season, trailing only Roma’s 96. Como have converted four of those situations into goals, the highest total in the league and twice Inter’s tally of two.
Como lead the competition for passing sequences of more than 10 passes, with 211, while Inter have recorded 188. They also lead in organised attacks beginning with build-up play, with Como on 57 and Inter on 50.
Marcus Thuram scored in three successive matches before failing to find the net in his past two. His longest recent league scoring drought was five games between February and March.
Thuram has scored four goals in three Serie A appearances against Como. He has scored more only against Parma, with five in five games, and Torino, with seven in five.
Como striker Tasos Douvikas has failed to score or assist in three league matches against Inter, Cagliari and Milan. A goal on Sunday would make him the 10th player to reach double figures both home and away across the past three Serie A seasons. Marcus Thuram, Nico Paz and Lautaro Martinez have already achieved that feat.
