Milan travel to Luigi Ferraris on Sunday, 8 November 2026, to face Genoa in the 11th round of Serie A, with the visitors seeking to maintain their strong record in the fixture while Genoa attempt to continue a three-match winning streak.
The Rossoneri have avoided defeat in their past 10 league meetings with Genoa, winning six and drawing four. Since the 2020-21 season, Genoa are the second team Milan have faced most often without losing, level with several clubs and behind only Hellas Verona, against whom Milan have gone unbeaten in 12 matches.
Milan have also won their last four away league games against Genoa. Their current away winning run in Serie A is longer against only three other sides: Hellas Verona, with seven victories, and Messina and Pisa, with five each.
The statistics, compiled by Opta, show Milan have scored 21 times in their first 10 league matches this season. The last Milan manager to oversee a higher tally after 11 matches was Cesare Maldini in 1972, when the team had scored 25 goals.
Milan have won two and drawn three of their five away league games this season. They have previously gone unbeaten in their opening six away matches of a Serie A campaign on three occasions between 2020-21 and 2025-26, matching the record achieved by Inter and Napoli. Avoiding defeat at Genoa would give Milan four such campaigns during that period, making them the only team to reach that mark.
Genoa targeting a record last achieved in 2009
Genoa have won their past three Serie A matches and are looking to make it four in a row for the first time since March and April 2009.
The Rossoblu have taken three wins from their first six home league matches this season, alongside one draw and two defeats. They have not recorded four victories in their opening seven home games since 2015-16, when Gian Piero Gasperini was in charge.
Genoa have scored four goals in the opening 15 minutes of their league matches, the same number as Frosinone, Atalanta, Lazio and Roma. Milan lead that statistic with five. However, Genoa are the only team yet to score in the final 15 minutes of their matches, while Milan have scored once during that period.
Players in focus
Stefano El Shaarawy has provided an assist in each of his last two Serie A appearances. He made 83 league appearances for Milan, scoring 21 goals. Another goal contribution on Sunday would make him, at 34 years and 12 days old, the second-oldest Genoa player to contribute in three consecutive league matches since 2004-05. Domenico Criscito holds the record, having done so in 2021 at 34 years and 269 days.
Adrien Rabiot has scored five goals and supplied three assists in his first eight league matches this season. The last midfielder to produce a better return in his opening nine matches of a Serie A campaign was Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in 2022-23, with 10 goal contributions, including three goals and seven assists. Rabiot has contributed to at least one goal in each of his past five matches, the best such run by a Milan midfielder since Kaka contributed to seven successive goals in 2004.
Diego Moreira has made seven goal contributions in his first six Serie A appearances for Milan, scoring four and assisting three. Since 2004-05, no other Milan player has produced more in his first six league matches, meaning he has matched Mario Balotelli’s 2013 record. No player has yet exceeded seven goal contributions in their first seven matches for the club.
