Real Madrid and PSG eye Aston Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering moves for Aston Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki following his impressive start to life in the Premier League.

According to English outlet TEAMtalk, both European giants are monitoring the 24-year-old Japan international, whose performances have attracted growing attention across the continent.

PSG previously considered signing Suzuki during the summer transfer window but eventually abandoned their pursuit. The goalkeeper subsequently joined Aston Villa from Parma in a deal worth approximately €30 million.

His impressive displays in England have reportedly kept him on the French champions’ radar, while Real Madrid are also tracking his development as they plan for the future of Thibaut Courtois.

The Spanish giants are understood to be assessing potential long-term replacements for the Belgian goalkeeper, who is now 34.

However, securing Suzuki’s services could prove difficult, with the Japanese shot-stopper contracted to Aston Villa until 2031.

TEAMtalk suggests that a potential transfer next summer could see Suzuki become the most expensive goalkeeper in football history, surpassing the existing world record.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, are reportedly keen to retain the highly-rated goalkeeper as an important part of their long-term plans.
