Jack Grealish returns to Everton training after disciplinary absence

Jack Grealish has returned to Everton training after missing the club’s past three matches as a disciplinary measure, giving the England winger a chance to reclaim his place in David Moyes’ starting line-up after the next international break.

The 31-year-old was left out of Moyes’ plans last week after breaching Everton’s internal regulations. Grealish had not featured for the Toffees since their defeat by Chelsea on 17 October and was absent from one training session, leading to his exclusion from the squad for their most recent two matches against Newcastle.

Grealish will not be involved when Everton face Coventry on Friday evening, but his return to training means he could be considered for the Premier League fixture against Brentford on 23 November 2026, according to the British newspaper The Sun.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference before the Coventry game, Moyes confirmed that Grealish would soon resume work with the squad.

“No, Jack is not available to play at the moment. I will not go into the detailed plan, but we will be working with Jack again in the near future,” said the Everton manager.

Details behind Grealish’s punishment

The Sun reported that the disciplinary action followed a series of late-night social events.

Grealish, who earns £300,000 a week, attended the Pride of Britain Awards in London on 19 October. He then went to a karaoke venue in the Victoria area, where he remained until the early hours of the morning.

The following day, the England international was seen at a hotel in the town of Wilmslow with Everton team-mates Jordan Pickford and Tyler Dibling, as well as his former Manchester City team-mate Kyle Walker.

Moyes has declined to discuss the precise nature of the breach, but made clear that the punishment was an internal Everton decision.

Grealish has made six appearances for Everton this season without scoring. He impressed during his first loan spell at the club last season, although that campaign was ended by a serious foot injury.
