England squad: Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Kobbie Mainoo left out by Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel has omitted Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Kobbie Mainoo from his latest England squad, while Jobe Bellingham and Josh King have been called up to the senior side for the first time.

Tuchel has selected 25 players for England’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain. Arsenal defender Ben White and Inter Milan wing-back Djed Spence have also returned to the squad.

Chelsea midfielder Palmer has been absent from England’s recent plans after struggling with injuries. He was previously left out of the nation’s World Cup squad and withdrew from the September and October international camps because of fitness concerns.

During the previous international break, Tuchel questioned Palmer’s commitment to England, saying the player needed to make greater use of the opportunities available to him when representing his country.

Manchester United midfielder Mainoo is another significant omission. He missed the previous camp because of injury and, although he was included in England’s World Cup squad, he did not play during the tournament.

Foden has also been overlooked after missing the World Cup squad and subsequent England selections.

Bellingham and King receive first call-ups

The absence of three established internationals has created opportunities for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham and Fulham midfielder King.

Jobe, the younger brother of Jude Bellingham, has been recognised for his progress with his club and at youth international level, as has King.

White and Spence are back in contention, while Bukayo Saka, Adam Scott and Marcus Rashford are unavailable because of injury.

England host Croatia on Thursday, November 12, before travelling to Spain for their second match on Sunday, November 15.
