Bara Sapoko Ndiaye begins comeback journey after appendix surgery

Bara Sapoko Ndiaye has taken an encouraging step towards his return to action after resuming individual training at Bayern Munich following surgery for appendicitis.

The 18-year-old Senegalese midfielder returned to the training pitch at Bayern’s Säbener Straße facility on Thursday, November 5, where he completed an individual running session.

Bayern confirmed the development through their official website, providing a positive update on the youngster’s recovery after he underwent an operation in October.

Ndiaye has been sidelined since the procedure and missed several fixtures for the German champions, including their Bundesliga meeting with SC Freiburg, DFB-Pokal encounter against FC Magdeburg and Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

His return to individual running represents an important milestone in his rehabilitation, although he is yet to resume full team training.

The club have not provided a definitive timeline for his return to competitive action, meaning it remains unclear when he will be available for selection again.

Bayern await Ndiaye’s full recovery

Ndiaye joined Bayern permanently in the summer of 2026 from Gambinos Stars Africa after initially arriving on loan.

The defensive midfielder has been regarded as an exciting young prospect and is continuing his development within Vincent Kompany’s first-team setup.

His recovery will be closely monitored by Bayern’s medical department as the club look to ensure he returns to full fitness without complications.

For now, the Senegalese youngster will continue working individually before eventually progressing towards full team training.
