Algeria coach Brahim Hemdani names 26-man squad for Togo double-header
Algeria head coach Brahim Hemdani has unveiled his 26-man squad for the November international break as the Desert Foxes prepare for two crucial encounters against Togo in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The North African giants will be looking to strengthen their position at the top of Group I when they face Togo in a double-header scheduled for November 14 and 17.
Algeria have made a relatively positive start to their qualifying campaign, collecting four points from their opening two matches. They began with an impressive 3-1 victory over Zambia before being held to a 2-2 draw by Burundi in their second outing.
The results have left the Fennecs unbeaten and top of Group I, putting them in a favourable position as they seek to secure qualification for the continental showpiece.
Hemdani will now be hoping his selected players can deliver the desired results against Togo and maintain their momentum in the qualifying race.
However, the latest squad announcement comes with some notable omissions, as Rayan Aït-Nouri, Samir Chergui and Ilan Kebbal have all been left out of the 26-man selection.
The squad features a blend of experienced campaigners and emerging talents, with Ramy Bensebaïni, Nabil Bentaleb, Hicham Boudaoui, Amine Gouiri and Mohamed Amine Amoura among the notable names expected to play important roles.
Algeria will be particularly keen to make the most of home advantage in the first encounter before travelling for the return fixture as they look to collect maximum points from the two matches.
