Real Madrid have been praised for a remarkable 26-day spell in which they have won seven consecutive matches since returning to action after the latest international break.
Spanish newspaper Marca described the run as “26 golden days”, highlighting the club’s perfect record across La Liga and the Champions League. The team have won four league matches and three in Europe during that period.
“Win, win, win, win, win, win, win. That is Real Madrid’s perfect record since returning to competition after the latest international break,” Marca reported.
The paper said Mourinho’s side had produced an “invincible” showing during the past 26 days, giving them significant momentum and turning them into “a winning machine”.
Real Madrid’s league sequence, which includes victory at Camp Nou, has brought them back into contention for the domestic title. Their three Champions League victories have effectively secured their place in the knockout stages and left them one step away from achieving their target of finishing in the top eight for the first time.
That progress has come as a direct result of their seven-match winning streak.
A marked change in fortunes
Real Madrid have undergone a major transformation in just one month compared with the side that entered the previous international break.
At that point, their second derby defeat of the season had left them looking exhausted. Several weeks later, the effects of that downturn have disappeared and the team have returned to their usual level in both competitions.
Only their match against Valencia at Mestalla on 07 November 2026 remains before the next international break. Real Madrid’s ambitious aim was to collect a maximum eight wins from eight matches and remove any doubts about their form.
They are now one game away from completing that perfect sequence.
It has been a long time since Real Madrid put together such an extended run of victories, but they have finally rediscovered that consistency.
Valverde said the team were benefiting from the improvement in results.
“You work with less pressure and enjoy it because things are going well, and tomorrow we return to training,” he said.
He also praised the squad for recovering strongly on two occasions.
“I congratulate our team on coming back strongly twice; it means we are full of energy and vitality,” Valverde added. “We knew they defended very well in their area, leaving us spaces outside the box to shoot… Today the ball found the net, which does not always happen.”
Bellingham, who was named player of the match, also spoke about the team’s current performance and growing confidence.
“We worked very hard to achieve this victory, kept possession, created chances and played as we have been playing in the Champions League recently,” he said.
