Bilal El Khannouss names Galatasaray as his only Turkish club choice

Bilal El Khannouss has said he would consider playing in Turkey only for Galatasaray, despite suffering a 0-2 defeat with VfB Stuttgart against the Istanbul club in the Champions League.

The Morocco midfielder spoke after the match to HT Spor and made clear that, if he were to move to the Turkish league, Galatasaray would be his sole preference.

El Khannouss reflects on Stuttgart defeat

El Khannouss acknowledged that Stuttgart could have been more effective in the decisive moments of the game. However, he felt his side had not been outplayed and had shown a positive attitude throughout the match.

The midfielder also expressed regret at Stuttgart’s lack of efficiency in front of goal, while praising the mentality and effort displayed by his team during the defeat.

His comments came after a match in which Galatasaray secured a 2-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the Champions League.

Galatasaray the only option in Turkey

When asked about reported interest from Galatasaray, El Khannouss initially avoided giving a clear answer. The question followed reports from Africafoot that the Turkish club had made an offer for him during the previous summer transfer window.

However, he was considerably more direct when asked whether he could see himself playing in Turkey.

“If I play in Turkey, it will only be for Galatasaray,” El Khannouss said.

The declaration is likely to attract the attention of Galatasaray supporters, although no transfer has been announced at this stage. It nevertheless reveals the Moroccan international’s preferred destination should he eventually decide to move to the Turkish championship.

El Khannouss currently plays for VfB Stuttgart. His comments do not indicate that a move is imminent, but they establish that Galatasaray would be his first and only choice among Turkish clubs.

Galatasaray are due to play Amedspor in the 11th round of the Turkish championship. The odds listed by 1xbet are 1.29 for a Galatasaray victory, 4.15 for a draw and 5.20 for an Amedspor win.
