Algerian international Ibrahim Maza has admitted that playing for Paris Saint-Germain would represent a major dream in his football career, as he continues to attract attention following his impressive performances for Bayer Leverkusen.

The highly-rated midfielder has openly expressed his admiration for the French champions, making no secret of his desire to eventually take his career to another level by joining one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Speaking in an interview with RTL and Sky, Maza was asked about the reported interest from PSG and responded enthusiastically, describing the Parisian outfit as one of the best teams in world football.

The 20-year-old placed PSG in the same category as European heavyweights Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal, underlining the club’s reputation and the appeal of potentially representing them in the future.

“Of course, it would be a huge dream to play for such a great club one day.

“I think we all know just how huge a club Paris is.

“It’s one of the best clubs in the world, alongside Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal.

“Playing for a club like that is something I’m working towards, not just me, but many other footballers as well,” he said.

Maza’s comments come amid growing speculation over his future, with German journalist Florian Plettenberg recently reporting that PSG have registered an interest in the Algerian midfielder.

His performances at Bayer Leverkusen have enhanced his reputation as one of the exciting young talents to watch, with his technical ability, creativity and attacking qualities making him an attractive prospect for top European clubs.

Although no formal agreement has been announced, Maza’s admiration for PSG adds an interesting dimension to the growing transfer speculation surrounding the youngster.

For now, the Algerian international remains focused on his development at Leverkusen, but his latest comments suggest that a potential move to the French capital would be an opportunity he would find difficult to turn down.
