Cape Town City midfielder Gabriel Amato joins Roc Nation Sports International
Cape Town City midfielder Gabriel Amato has signed for Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI), becoming the latest South African footballer to join the agency’s growing roster.
The move comes after RNSI recently recruited Amato’s Cape Town City team-mate Cayden Fortune. The agency also represents Neo Bohloko, Emile Witbooi and Siya Mabena.
Amato has started the season strongly, scoring four goals and providing two assists in eight appearances for Cape Town City.
RNSI’s Head of Global Football Recruitment, Nathan Campbell, said the agency had followed the midfielder’s progress for an extended period before agreeing the deal.
“Beyond his undeniable on-field qualities, RNSI recognised that Amato possesses the exemplary mindset, discipline and work ethic required to navigate a successful professional career at the highest global level,” Campbell said.
Amato said joining the agency represented an important step in his career and welcomed the opportunity to work alongside other South African players on its books.
“Joining Roc Nation Sports International is a massive milestone in my career. To be part of an agency that represents some of the biggest names in world sport – and to stand alongside incredible talents like Cayden, Emile, Neo, and Siya on the South African roster – is an absolute honour.
“RNSI has shown belief in my journey from an early stage, and I am incredibly grateful for their support. I am fully focused on making my family and supporters proud as I chase my dreams.”
Grant Veitch, RNSI’s Director of African Football Recruitment, said Amato’s development and performances for Cape Town City had been impressive.
“It has been incredible to watch Amato’s rapid development and stellar performances for Cape Town City,” Veitch said.
“He is a truly special talent with extraordinary vision and technical ability. He embodies everything we look for in an athlete at Roc Nation. We are incredibly proud to welcome him to the family and look forward to supporting him as he fulfills his immense potential, both locally and internationally.”
The agreement adds another emerging South African player to RNSI’s football division, with Amato joining Fortune, Bohloko, Witbooi and Mabena as part of the agency’s local representation.
