Egypt coach Hossam Hassan considers four new faces for Malawi double-header
Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan is reportedly considering several new faces for his squad ahead of the national team’s upcoming training camp for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Hassan is assessing a number of promising performers from the domestic league, with several players potentially earning their first international call-ups as he looks to strengthen his options ahead of the next qualifying assignments.
According to Lila Kora, Al Ahly duo Omar Al-Sa’i and Tawfiq Mohamed are among the players attracting the attention of the national team technical staff, alongside Zamalek youngster Mohamed Hamad, whose recent performances have reportedly impressed the coaching team.
Mohamed Hamad is particularly attracting attention following his development and impressive displays, with the coaching staff viewing him as one of the outstanding talents born in 2008. The youngster was also part of the generation that represented Egypt at the last FIFA U-17 World Cup.
His potential inclusion would represent an important opportunity to introduce another young prospect into the senior national team setup as Hassan continues to monitor emerging talents in Egyptian football.
Another player under consideration is Modern Sport forward Mahmoud Mamdouh, who has emerged as one of the standout performers in the Egyptian Premier League this season.
Mamdouh’s impressive goalscoring form has reportedly placed him among the candidates for a place in the Pharaohs’ squad, with his performances potentially earning him an opportunity to prove himself at international level.
Egypt are preparing for a double-header against Malawi on November 13 and 17 as part of their qualification campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Hassan will be keen to maintain the team’s positive start to the qualifiers as he considers his options for the upcoming fixtures.
The Pharaohs currently share the top position in Group B with Angola, with both nations having collected four points from their opening two matches.
The possible inclusion of the emerging talents would provide Hassan with an opportunity to assess new options while maintaining Egypt’s ambition of securing qualification for the continental tournament.
