Sports betting expert and Cameroonian journalist Arthur Wandji has selected four Champions League matches for a multiple bet covering games on 3 and 4 November.
Bodø/Glimt v Lille – 3 November, 20:00 GMT
Betting option: Bodø/Glimt to win the corners market (odds: 1.50)
Bodø/Glimt will look to make home advantage count when they welcome Lille on their artificial pitch in the fourth round of the Champions League.
The Norwegian side have won their past six European home matches, including victories against Manchester City and Inter. They will also be encouraged by the form of Sondre Brunstad Fet, who scored once and provided two assists against Naples.
Lille, meanwhile, are enduring a difficult European campaign after three successive defeats in the competition and 10 goals conceded. Even if Bodø/Glimt lose Jens Hauge to injury, their sustained territorial dominance at home, combined with Lille’s struggles away, points towards the hosts controlling the set-piece phases and corner count.
Barcelona v Aston Villa – 3 November, 20:00 GMT
Betting option: Raphinha to score (odds: 1.53)
Barcelona return to the Camp Nou aiming to strengthen their European position after restoring confidence with a 6-1 victory over Alaves on Saturday.
Raphinha has been central to their attacking output, with 17 goals in all competitions. The Brazilian has scored in six of Barcelona’s past seven home matches, making him the leading goalscoring pick for the game.
Aston Villa have a perfect record in the Champions League and can call on Emiliano Buendia, who has scored twice in the competition. However, they come into the match after a cup defeat and a frustrating draw with Fulham, while they have regularly conceded against Spain’s leading sides.
Barcelona will be without Jules Kounde, but their recent attacking numbers remain formidable, averaging 5.06 goals per match across their past 18 league-phase fixtures. Raphinha is expected to be the player capable of breaking through the English side’s defence.
AEK v Real Madrid – 4 November, 17:45 GMT
Betting option: Mbappe to score (odds: 1.40)
Real Madrid travel to Greece to face AEK Athens in the fourth round of the Champions League league phase.
The Spanish club have won their past three European matches and arrive after winning the Clasico. Kylian Mbappe has scored 15 goals this season, including three in the Champions League, while Real Madrid have scored at least twice in each of their past three away matches.
AEK have won seven home matches this season and will rely on the goalscoring contribution of Luka Jovic. But goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha is a likely absentee, weakening a defence that conceded at least three goals in each of their two Champions League defeats.
Lens v Como – 4 November, 20:00 GMT
Betting option: Correct-score group – 0-1, 0-2 or 0-3 (odds: 4.4)
Lens must halt a run of two successive Champions League defeats when they host Como at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.
The French side have been affected by a string of absences, including Odsonne Edouard and Ismaelo Ganiou, while inconsistent results have limited their progress. Florian Thauvin has created 15 chances, but Lens have lacked efficiency in front of goal.
Como have made a historic start to their campaign, scoring 10 goals in three Champions League matches. Their attack, led by Martin Baturina, has helped them win six of their past matches, with most of those victories secured by at least a two-goal margin.
Lens have conceded the opening goal in 11 of their past 12 European matches. Como’s attacking strength and defensive record away from home make an away win without conceding a credible selection.
Odds may change.
