Sheffield United are considering a January move for Motherwell defender Emmanuel Longelo as they begin planning for the winter transfer window.
The Championship club have identified the 25-year-old left-back as a potential target in Scotland, according to journalist Alan Nixon. No formal offer has been made at this stage.
Longelo joined Motherwell from Birmingham City in the summer of 2025 and quickly established himself as an important member of the Scottish side. Last season, he recorded 14 goal contributions in 44 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing five assists.
His performances also helped Motherwell qualify for the Conference League, increasing his profile and attracting renewed interest from clubs in England.
Longelo came through the academy at West Ham United before going on to play for Birmingham City and Cambridge United. His form since moving to Scotland has now put him back on the English transfer market.
Sheffield United could make an approach in January as they look to strengthen their squad during the season. However, the club have not yet submitted an official bid for the defender.
Longelo remains under contract with Motherwell until 31 May 2027. The agreement also includes an option for a further year, while his current valuation is €1.5m.
Sheffield United are next due to face Preston North End in the 14th round of the Championship.
