Uganda Football Association (FUFA) president Moses Magogo has congratulated Samson Adamu following his appointment as the substantive General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Adamu succeeds Véron Mosengo-Omba, who has since taken up the role of president of the DR Congo Football Association.

In a congratulatory message, Magogo praised Adamu’s experience, knowledge of African football and administrative qualities, describing him as a suitable choice for one of the continent’s top football administration positions.

The FUFA president highlighted Adamu’s FIFA Master qualification, composure, fairness, attention to detail and humility as key attributes that make him well suited to the role.

“I wish to congratulate African football and the CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, for appointing Mr Samson Adamu as the substantive CAF General Secretary,” Magogo said.

“His FIFA Master, experience, knowledge of African football, composure, fair-mindedness, attention to detail and humility make him second to none in this role.”

Magogo also expressed confidence in CAF’s leadership, praising both Motsepe and Adamu for their commitment to the development of football across the continent.

“African football is in the safest hands of the passionate, able and hardworking President and the natural GS,” he added.

The Ugandan football chief further welcomed the appointment, saying it was a positive development for African football administration.

“As an FA President, it could not have been better,” he stated.

Magogo concluded by congratulating Adamu on his confirmation, noting that the announcement was made while the Nigerian administrator was in Uganda.

“Congratulations once again for this confirmation to come when Mr Adamu was in Uganda,” he said.

Adamu’s appointment places him at the centre of CAF’s administrative operations as the continental governing body continues its work to advance football development across Africa.
