AFCON 2027 Qualifiers: Egypt to open camp on November 9 ahead of Malawi double-header
Egypt will begin preparations for their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Malawi on 9 November, national team director Ibrahim Hassan has announced.
The Pharaohs will hold a training camp at the Egyptian National Teams Center as they prepare for the third and fourth rounds of the qualifiers.
Egypt are scheduled to host Malawi at the Cairo International Stadium on 13 November before travelling for the return fixture on 17 November.
Hassan also confirmed that the squad for the two matches will be announced on 8 November.
“Egypt’s squad for the camp will be announced on 8 November,” he said in a statement published on the Egyptian Football Association’s official website on Friday.
Egypt are currently top of Group B with four points from their opening two matches.
They began their qualifying campaign with a goalless draw against Angola before recording an emphatic 5-0 victory over South Sudan in their second fixture.
The Pharaohs will be hoping to build on that start and strengthen their position in the group with positive results against Malawi.
