Trezeguet leads Riyadh challenge as Al Qadsiah unveil strong line-up

Al Qadsiah have named a powerful starting XI for their Saudi Pro League meeting with Riyadh, while their opponents are relying on Egypt international Mahmoud Trezeguet to provide the attacking threat in the 12th round.

Al Qadsiah go into the match seeking three points to strengthen their position in the title race. Riyadh will look to their defensive organisation and experienced foreign players as they attempt to secure an unexpected result away from home.

Belgium international goalkeeper Koen Casteels captains an Al Qadsiah side selected with an attacking approach.

Casteels starts in goal, behind a defence of Mohammed Abu Al Shamat, Gaston Alvarez, Jihad Zekri and Mohammed Al Shahran.

Nacho Fernandez, Weigl, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Tijjani Reijnders and Musab Al Juwayr make up the midfield, with Julian Quinones and Abdullah Al Salem leading the attack.

Al Qadsiah’s substitutes are goalkeeper Al Kassar, Al Ammar, Al Qahtani, Al Jaber, Eyad, Sangare, Al Sayahi, Al Aliwa and Sane.

Riyadh have opted for a balanced team under Argentine manager Mauricio Dolec, with veteran goalkeeper Milan Borjan selected to start.

Ahmed Asiri, Awad Dahal, Dino Arslanagic and Khaled Al Mujarshi form the defensive line, while Qassem Lajami, Victor, Sekou Keita and Fahad Al Rashidi are named in midfield.

Bernard Mensah, Oko and Trezeguet are the three forwards.

Riyadh’s substitutes are Jan Bednarek, Suleiman Hazazi, Osama Al Bawardi, Hassan Al Ali, Hussein Al Sharfa, Yasser Al Mousa, Faisal Al Mabhi, Sultan Al Issa and Ammam Bahri.

The fixture is part of the 12th round of the Saudi Pro League and pits Al Qadsiah’s collection of international and domestic players against a Riyadh side hoping to disrupt the hosts’ ambitions.
