Morocco midfielder Samir El Mourabet extends contract with Strasbourg
RC Strasbourg have extended the contract of Moroccan international midfielder Samir El Mourabet by a further season, keeping him at the French club until 2031.
The agreement follows several months of discussions between the player and the club’s management, with both parties reaching an understanding over his long-term future at the Alsatian outfit.
El Mourabet, who developed through the Racing Mutest Academy, has continued his progression within Strasbourg’s setup, earning the club’s confidence despite limited playing time during the current campaign.
His previous contract was due to expire in 2030, but the new agreement adds another year to his stay, underlining Strasbourg’s intention to retain the midfielder as part of their long-term plans.
The 21-year-old has featured in six Ligue 1 matches this season, starting two of those encounters. Although he has yet to establish himself as a regular starter, the contract extension provides him with an opportunity to continue developing and strengthen his position within the squad.
For Strasbourg, securing El Mourabet’s future represents a commitment to a player who has progressed through the club’s development system and could play a greater role in the years ahead.
The Moroccan midfielder will now look to repay that confidence by improving his performances, earning more opportunities under the technical staff and establishing himself as a regular member of the first team.
With his future settled, El Mourabet can concentrate on his development and contribute to Strasbourg’s ambitions in Ligue 1 as he seeks to make the most of the opportunity at his boyhood club.
