Newcastle United Track Feyenoord Winger Anis Hadj Moussa

Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move for Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa ahead of the January transfer window, with a potential deal worth up to €40m being discussed in the Dutch media.

According to Dutch outlet Soccernews, the Premier League club remain interested in the Algerian attacker and could explore the possibility of signing him when the transfer window opens.

However, the reported figures remain hypothetical, and there is no confirmation that Newcastle have submitted an official offer.

The discussions reportedly include a possible bid of €35m, which could rise to €40m if certain conditions are met. Financial guarantees have also been mentioned as part of the proposed arrangement.

Journalist Michel van Egmond believes Feyenoord could seek a higher fee if Newcastle turn their interest into a formal approach. Such a move would leave the Dutch club facing an important decision over one of their attacking players during the middle of the season.

Newcastle’s interest in Hadj Moussa is not new. The English club had already been monitoring his progress for several months and were among the teams linked with a move for the winger during the previous transfer window.

However, attention surrounding a possible departure increased when a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad emerged as an option. Hadj Moussa ultimately remained in the Netherlands, continuing his career with Feyenoord.

The winger’s future could become a talking point again as the January window approaches, although any potential transfer will depend on whether Newcastle decide to make a concrete move and whether the clubs can agree on the financial terms.

Feyenoord face a difficult decision

Feyenoord’s ambitions this season could make negotiations challenging. The Rotterdam club are targeting a strong challenge in the Eredivisie and are also seeking to return to the Champions League.

Losing an important attacking player halfway through the campaign could affect those objectives. Even if Newcastle were prepared to offer a substantial fee, Feyenoord would have to weigh the financial benefits against the sporting consequences of allowing Hadj Moussa to leave.

One possible arrangement could involve the winger remaining in Rotterdam until the end of the season before completing a move to his next club in the summer. Such an agreement would allow Feyenoord to retain his services for the remainder of the campaign while providing a potential route for a future transfer.

However, no agreement has been confirmed, and the possibility remains dependent on negotiations between the parties involved.

With the January transfer window approaching, Newcastle could renew their pursuit of Hadj Moussa if their reported interest develops further.

For now, the winger remains at Feyenoord, while the reported valuation and possible transfer arrangements remain unconfirmed.
