Bayern Munich are the only team from Europe’s five major leagues yet to lose in any competition this season after beating Magdeburg 6-1 in the German Cup.
The result continued an impressive start to the campaign for Bayern, who have played 13 matches across all competitions. According to Opta statistics, Vincent Kompany’s side have won nine of those games and drawn the other four.
Bayern’s record became unique after Barcelona suffered their second successive defeat. The Spanish side had won 11 consecutive matches in all competitions before losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and then to Real Madrid in La Liga.
Barcelona had been the only other team from Europe’s top five leagues to remain unbeaten across all competitions at the start of the season.
Bayern also lead the scoring charts among clubs from those leagues since the beginning of the 2026 calendar year.
French statistics provider Stats Foot says the German club have scored 146 goals in all competitions during that period, the highest total recorded by any team from the major European leagues.
Since the start of the year, Bayern have played 38 matches. They have won 29, drawn eight and lost once.
Their only defeat came against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final of last season’s Champions League.
