Trabzonspor step up pursuit of BK Hacken midfielder Abdoulaye Doumbia

Trabzonspor are intensifying their interest in 19-year-old Abdoulaye Doumbia and are considering a bid of about 5 million euros for the BK Hacken midfielder during the January transfer window.

The Turkish club have monitored Doumbia since the summer and have recently increased contact with the Ivory Coast international’s representatives, according to Turkish publication Fanatik.

Trabzonspor are now looking to turn that long-standing interest into a formal move when the winter window opens. If negotiations progress as expected, the teenager could leave Sweden and take the next step in his career by joining the Turkish league.

The proposed fee would underline the club’s belief in Doumbia’s potential. Trabzonspor are seeking young players who can strengthen their squad in the short term while also offering significant value for the future, and the Ivorian midfielder is viewed as a strong fit for that recruitment strategy.

Doumbia’s ability to contribute across midfield has helped attract attention. He is regarded as a mobile, energetic central midfielder capable of influencing several phases of the game, qualities that have made him an appealing target for the Turkish side.

His arrival would also allow Trabzonspor to begin planning for the future of their midfield with a player who still has considerable room for development.

Doumbia’s progress in Sweden

Doumbia joined BK Hacken in January 2026 and has quickly gained experience in the Allsvenskan. He has made 23 league appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Those figures highlight his attacking contribution despite his age and have helped bring him to the attention of clubs outside Sweden. Trabzonspor are reportedly determined to take advantage of the opportunity to add him to their squad.

Transfermarkt currently values Doumbia at 5 million euros, matching the amount Trabzonspor are reportedly prepared to invest in the player.

The coming weeks could therefore prove decisive. The level of the proposed fee, the interest shown over several months and the recent increase in discussions all suggest the transfer could move forward in January.

However, an agreement would still need to be reached with BK Hacken, who must decide whether to part with their midfielder during the winter window. The outcome of those negotiations will determine whether Doumbia begins the next stage of his career in Turkey.

At 19, the Ivorian has already attracted interest beyond Sweden. January could now represent a significant turning point in his development, with Trabzonspor positioned to make a serious attempt to sign him.
