Siwelele FC interim coach Godfrey Mosoetsa has praised the club’s technical staff for helping restore stability after a poor beginning to their Betway Premiership campaign.
Mosoetsa was moved up from the reserve team after a run of disappointing results led the club’s hierarchy to demote Lehlohonolo Seema and appoint an interim coach to steady the side.
Siwelele claimed their first league victory of the season two weekends ago, beating Polokwane City. They then overcame the same opponents again on Sunday, this time in the Carling Knockout.
Despite overseeing the recent improvement, Mosoetsa insisted the progress should be shared with the wider backroom team.
“I joined the first team just before the Sundowns game, and my role is just to ensure that they are comfortable and that the technical team are given the freedom to analyse the games because modern football is about bringing together analytical football brains,” he said.
“I’m just leading the sheep and steering the direction of the team.”
Mosoetsa pointed to Siwelele’s penalty shoot-out victory over Rise and Shine as an example of why the contribution of his colleagues deserved recognition.
The coach also provided an update on veteran attacker Vincent Pule, who has been absent for the past two matches.
“The medical staff says they are managing him which means he is still injured, he should be back soon but I don’t know when soon will be,” Mosoetsa said.
