2026 Ballon d'Or

Lamine Yamal has strengthened his candidacy for the 2026 Ballon d’Or after an impressive season with Barcelona and Spain, with his attacking statistics and team achievements adding weight to his bid for football’s most prestigious individual award.

According to beIN SPORTS, the 19-year-old winger scored 24 goals and registered 18 assists in 45 appearances for Barcelona during the 2025–26 season.

His contributions helped the Catalan club win La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.

Yamal’s Creativity Sets Him Apart

Beyond his goals and assists, Yamal’s close ball control, dribbling ability and creative passing have made him a constant attacking threat.

The winger also helped Spain win the 2026 World Cup, although physical problems limited his individual influence during the tournament.

From La Masia to Barcelona’s Leading Players

Yamal developed at Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy before making his first-team debut at the age of 15.

He has since established himself as one of the club’s leading players, with his performances strengthening his position among the contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

However, he faces competition from prolific forwards, including Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane.
