Fermin Lopez and Gavi rally Barcelona after Real Madrid setback

Fermin Lopez and Gavi have reaffirmed their commitment to Barcelona and urged supporters to remain confident after the club’s defeat by Real Madrid in El Clasico.

The midfielders used messages to the club’s fans to stress that Barcelona’s season remains far from over and that the team can recover from a difficult spell.

Fermin Lopez wrote: “Today, more than ever, long live Barcelona! Believe in this team, Barcelona fans. There is still a long way to go and everything will return to normal.”

Gavi also made clear that he intends to remain with Barcelona and continue fighting for the club.

“This is a long journey! I am with my team until the end, always!” he said.

The pair’s statements came with the effects of the defeat by Real Madrid still being felt. Their messages offered public backing for their team-mates and underlined the need for Barcelona to regain confidence and focus as the season continues across its different competitions.

Rather than allowing the result to weaken their connection with the club, Fermin Lopez and Gavi presented the loss as a setback on a longer campaign. Both players stressed their belief that Barcelona still have time to respond and return strongly to the competition.

The schedule information accompanying the messages lists Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alaves for 31 October 2026. Racing Santander are listed against Real Madrid in La Liga on 01 November 2026.
