Air Defense Stadium to undergo renovation works

Pyramids FC will temporarily close the Air Defense Stadium for a month following their Egyptian Premier League encounter against Wadi Degla on Thursday to allow for routine maintenance and the planting of winter grass.

The Egyptian club will host Wadi Degla at 8:00 pm on Thursday in the eighth round of the league campaign before shutting down the venue immediately after the match.

The decision forms part of the club’s efforts to maintain the playing surface and ensure the pitch remains in suitable condition for the demanding schedule of domestic and continental competitions.

Maintenance work will be carried out during the one-month closure, alongside the planting of winter grass to improve the quality and durability of the playing surface.

The stadium is expected to reopen once the work has been completed, allowing Pyramids FC to resume hosting their remaining home fixtures in both domestic competitions and continental tournaments.

The temporary closure means the club will need to make the necessary arrangements for any home matches scheduled during the maintenance period, depending on the fixture calendar and the availability of alternative venues.

Pyramids will therefore aim to secure a positive result against Wadi Degla before the break in the stadium’s use, as they continue their campaign in the Egyptian Premier League.
