Ronaldo hails ‘71 years of passion’ as Al Nassr celebrate club anniversary

Cristiano Ronaldo has marked Al Nassr’s 71st anniversary with a short message to celebrate the Saudi club’s founding.

Al Nassr was established on 24 October 1955 and is commemorating its 71st anniversary on Saturday, 24 October 2026.

The Portugal forward and club captain posted on X: “71 years of passion, happy birthday to Al Nassr.”

Al Nassr shared Ronaldo’s message on its official X account, adding: “A great legacy and history have been written over 71 years. Together, we will create and write a new history to be told.”

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January 2023 on a free transfer after his contract with Manchester United was terminated before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Since arriving at Al-Awwal Park, Ronaldo has worn the captain’s armband and helped the Riyadh-based club win the Roshn Saudi League title last season, ending a seven-year wait for the championship.

He also lifted the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al Nassr in 2023 and finished as the Roshn Saudi League’s leading scorer in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons.

The 41-year-old is now pursuing another significant milestone with the club. He needs 18 more goals to become the first player in football history to score 1,000 goals.
