Tebas welcomes Pitchwise Holdings investment in Valencia

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has described the sale of 42% of Valencia’s shares to Pitchwise Holdings as “extremely positive” for the club and the city.

Valencia announced the agreement in an official statement on Friday, confirming that Peter Lim had sold the stake to the company.

“This is extremely positive news for Valencia and for the whole city of Valencia,” Tebas said.

He added that the deal represented more than an injection of fresh capital, highlighting the experience and financial strength of the new partners.

“This partnership is not only about bringing in new capital, but also about welcoming partners with extensive expertise in sports management and world-class investors,” Tebas said.

The agreement values Valencia at €1.25bn and covers the acquisition of 42% of the club’s share capital.

Tebas said the valuation reflected the strength and potential of Valencia’s assets, from its men’s and women’s teams to its new stadium.

“The transaction, which values the club at €1.25bn and includes the acquisition of a 42% stake in its capital, demonstrates the strength of all Valencia’s assets and their potential, from the men’s and women’s teams to the new stadium,” he said.

The LaLiga president also stressed the significance of investors of this calibre choosing to put money into Valencia and the wider Spanish league.

“It is important to emphasise that investors of this level are not only placing their trust in Valencia, but are also choosing to invest in LaLiga clubs,” Tebas said.

He said the transaction formed part of recent developments in club ownership and underlined the work carried out at Valencia in recent years.

“The deal comes amid the recent moves we have seen in club ownership. It confirms the significant amount of work that has been done at Valencia in recent years and once again highlights LaLiga’s position as an attractive competition that is economically sustainable and capable of attracting major international investment over the long term,” Tebas added.
