Al Ahly Tripoli host Welwalo Adigrat on Saturday, 24 October 2026, with a substantial advantage as they seek to reach the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Libyan side won the first leg 4-0 in Ethiopia and will welcome their opponents to Tripoli International Stadium for the second leg of the second preliminary round. The result leaves Al Ahly Tripoli close to securing qualification for the group stage.
Al-Lafi, Togai, Al-Suwaidi and Al-Mirimi scored in the opening match as Al Ahly Tripoli produced a commanding away performance. Their four-goal cushion puts them in a strong position ahead of the return fixture in front of their home supporters.
Al Ahly Tripoli would still progress if they lost by three goals, while a victory or draw would confirm their superiority across the two legs.
Welwalo Adigrat face the far more demanding task. The Ethiopian club must overturn a four-goal deficit to keep their continental campaign alive, requiring a significant improvement in attack while also preventing Al Ahly Tripoli from exploiting spaces at the back.
The Libyan team will instead focus on protecting their lead and completing the job without putting qualification at risk.
Kick-off is scheduled for 17:00 GMT, or 19:00 in Libya. The winner of the two-legged tie will secure a place in the next stage of the competition.
