Golden Arrows part company with head coach Pitso Dladla

Betway Premiership club Golden Arrows have ended Pitso Dladla’s brief spell as head coach after a difficult start to the campaign.

The KwaZulu-Natal club confirmed the coaching change in a short statement on Thursday afternoon, bringing Dladla’s tenure to an immediate conclusion.

His departure was announced only hours after defending champions Orlando Pirates confirmed that assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi would leave the club.

Ncikazi is now widely expected to take charge of Golden Arrows, also known as Abafana Bes’thende, although the club has not announced his appointment.

Dladla leaves after winning only one of his eight league matches in charge. Golden Arrows have taken eight points from a possible 24 under his leadership, although that return has kept them inside the top-eight bracket.

The club’s decision follows a run of poor results and reflects its desire to improve its position in the Betway Premiership.

Whoever succeeds Dladla will inherit a squad regarded as full of promising talent and will be expected to lift the team’s performances during the remainder of the campaign.
