Pyramids FC assistant coach Mohamed Nagy Gedo has called for good refereeing ahead of his side’s crucial Egyptian Premier League clash against Al Ahly.

The two Egyptian giants are scheduled to meet on November 23 in a matchday nine encounter, with both sides eager to strengthen their positions in the league title race.

Speaking to MBC Egypt, Gedo acknowledged the difficulty of facing Al Ahly, insisting that the outcome would be significant given the teams’ positions in the standings.

“Al-Ahly’s matches are always difficult, regardless of the team’s condition. The match will be between the first and second in the league,” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of the officiating, expressing hope that the referee would make the right decisions in the high-profile encounter.

“The difference between us and Al Ahly is four points. We hope that the refereeing will be good in this match. The referee’s decisions always make the difference in big matches,” he added.

Gedo also commented on the refereeing in the recent derby between Al Ahly and Zamalek, stating that he was satisfied with the officials’ performance.

“The refereeing in the derby match was good, and Zamalek did not deserve the two penalty kicks,” he said.

Al Ahly head into the fixture after drawing 3-3 with Al-Qanah in the seventh round, a result that took their tally to 17 points from seven matches, having recorded five wins and two draws.

Pyramids, meanwhile, have 21 points after defeating Tala’ea El Gaish 4-1 in their previous league outing.

The upcoming encounter is expected to be a crucial test for both sides as they battle for supremacy in the Egyptian Premier League.
