English-Ghanaian defender Jarell Quansah responds to transfer links
England international of Ghanaian descent Jarell Quansah insists his priority is to make more appearances for Bayer Leverkusen in the ongoing football campaign despite being linked with several top European clubs.
The 23-year-old has attracted attention from several clubs, including Real Madrid and Arsenal, following his progress since joining Leverkusen from Liverpool in the summer of 2025.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are understood to have retained a buy-back option worth €70 million before sanctioning his move to Leverkusen, potentially giving the Premier League side an opportunity to re-sign him.
However, Quansah has played down the transfer talk, expressing his full concentration on the current football campaign.
“I just need to focus on the current season. I want to play as many games as possible and try to improve,” he said.
Quansah’s ability to operate in different defensive roles has further strengthened his profile, particularly as he continues to develop his game at the German club.
The versatile defender has been outstanding for Bayer Leverkusen in the current football campaign, making eight appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
The enterprising defender’s current contract with the Bundesliga outfit runs until summer 2030. However, interested clubs would have to spend huge to secure his signature.
