Roma make six changes as Suleiman Camara starts for Slovan Bratislava

AS Roma have made six changes for their Champions League league-phase meeting with Slovan Bratislava, with Daniele Ghilardi brought into the defence and Donyell Malen restored to the starting XI.

The official line-ups were confirmed on Tuesday ahead of the third matchday fixture at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, where kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.

Gian Piero Gasperini has altered his side from the team that started Roma’s Serie A match against Genoa. Ghilardi is the most notable change in defence, with the young Italian lining up alongside Balerdi and Mario Hermoso in front of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

Nahuel Molina, Marten de Roon, Niccolo Pisilli and Wesley Franca form the midfield, while Rodrigo Mora and Lorenzo Pellegrini will operate behind Malen in attack.

Matias Soule, who has impressed in his recent appearances, starts on the bench as Gasperini opts to manage the Argentine’s involvement.

Slovan Bratislava, coached by Yaya Toure, include Gambia international Suleiman Camara in their attacking line-up. He starts alongside Marcelli and Tigran Barseghyan.

Pokorny, Ibrahim and Gajdos are named in midfield, with Sandro Cruz, Markovic, Bajric and Blackman forming the defensive line. Dominik Takac is selected in goal.

The Slovakian side have lost both of their opening European matches and will seek to withstand Roma’s challenge while claiming a positive result in the Italian capital. For Yaya Toure, the match represents another significant test against a Roma side looking to make an impact in their European campaign.
