Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush says Tottenham Hotspur’s first Premier League victory of the season means more to him than scoring his first goal for the club.

Marmoush found the net in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Coventry City, ending a seven-game wait for their first victory of the 2026-27 campaign.

The 27-year-old joined Spurs on loan from Manchester City last summer and opened his account for the north London club in a result that lifted them off the bottom of the table.

“I am happier with the win than with the goal I scored, and with getting the first three points of the season,” Marmoush told beIN Sports.

“In the past matches, we played well, but we did not come away with a win. The past period witnessed a rapprochement between all the players after the last camp.”

Tottenham held a short training camp in Marbella, Spain, before facing Coventry, and the team returned with an improved performance to secure all three points.

Spurs had drawn three and lost three of their opening six league matches before the victory, which moved them up to 16th place with six points.

The result offers some relief for the London side as they seek to build momentum following a difficult start to the season.

Tottenham will now turn their attention to a challenging London derby against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Saturday, with both teams set to meet in the eighth round of Premier League fixtures.
