Lehlohonolo Seema has been given a new role at Siwelele after being removed from first-team duties, with the 46-year-old appointed coach of the club’s DDC side.
Siwelele boss Calvin Le John confirmed the change during a meeting with supporters on Sunday, saying Seema remained an important part of the club despite no longer leading the senior team.
“He’s still part of us. Some people will say we have demoted him. He will be our new coach for the DDC (DStv Diski Challenge),” Le John said.
Seema had initially been suspended alongside his assistant, Willem Jackson, in early September following a difficult start to Siwelele’s 2026/27 campaign.
His move to the DDC team represents a switch of responsibilities with Godfrey Mosoetsa. Mosoetsa had been in charge of the developmental side before taking over coaching duties with the first team.
Reports have suggested Mosoetsa could remain as first-team coach until the end of the season, although that arrangement is not regarded as final.
“The club is interested in Clinton Larsen, so don’t be surprised if he takes over along the way,” a source said.
Soccer Laduma reported late last month that Larsen was being considered as a potential successor, but there have been no concrete developments regarding a possible appointment.
Siwelele recorded their first victory of the season over the weekend, beating Polokwane City 1-0 at the Free State Stadium.
Despite that result, they remain 14th in the standings after eight matches.
