Botafogo coach Tite says Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech needs to improve his physical condition and regain competitive rhythm to make the most of his technical ability in Brazilian football.

The Brazilian coach acknowledged the winger’s technical quality but stressed that greater physical readiness would help him meet the demands of the game in Brazil.

According to WinWin, Tite made the comments after Botafogo’s 1-0 victory over Chapecoense in the Brazilian league, a result secured by Ziyech’s teammates.

Tite identifies key area for improvement

Tite believes Ziyech’s technical capabilities are not in question, but says improving his fitness is essential if the Moroccan is to deliver consistently at his best.

The coach identified regaining competitive rhythm and increasing his level of physical readiness as key areas for the former Morocco international to address.

While praising Ziyech’s technical qualities, Tite indicated that the winger needs the physical foundation to use those attributes more effectively on the pitch.

Brazilian football presents a different challenge

Tite also emphasised the importance of adapting Ziyech’s playing style to the demands of Brazilian football, where matches require a high tempo and sustained effort throughout the game.

Improving his physical condition would help the Moroccan international cope with that intensity and make a greater contribution to Botafogo.

The coach’s assessment highlights the balance between Ziyech’s technical ability and the physical demands he must meet as he seeks to reach his best level in Brazil.
