Club Africain secured a valuable 1-1 draw away to TP Mazembe in Congo in the first leg of their CAF Champions League round-of-32 tie.
TP Mazembe took the lead in the 37th minute when Josue Kazima found the net, putting the home side ahead before half-time.
Club Africain responded almost immediately, with Alain Kante equalising in the 38th minute with an excellent strike.
The result gives the Tunisian club a positive platform ahead of the return fixture, which will be played next Sunday as the two sides meet again in the second leg of the round-of-32 tie.
Club Africain and Esperance Sportive de Tunis are representing Tunisia in this season’s CAF Champions League. Esperance Sportive de Tunis are also involved at the same stage and will face Libyan side Al-Swehly.
