Kitara confident of positive result against Al Ahly in CAF Confederation Cup

Waswa Bossa says Kitara are prepared to produce a positive result when they host Al Ahly in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday.

The Ugandan side will face Al Ahly at 16:00 at Hoima Stadium, the home ground of the Ugandan cup holders.

“We respect Al Ahly. They are an organised team that know how to deal with tests like this, but we are playing at home,” Kitara’s head coach said on the club’s website.

Bossa added that his players were looking forward to the match and believed they could secure a result that would help them reach the next stage of the competition.

“The players are extremely motivated and we believe they will achieve a positive result that will take us into the next round,” he said.

Kitara progressed from the first preliminary round after beating Somalia’s Mogadishu City 4-1 in the second leg. They had won the first leg 2-1, completing a 6-2 aggregate victory.

“We have prepared well for this match. The team is in excellent physical condition and we have a balanced blend of experience ready to face our opponents,” Bossa said.

He also called on the home supporters to expect an entertaining contest at Hoima City Stadium.

“Our fans should expect an enjoyable match at Hoima City Stadium,” he added.

Al Ahly entered the competition at the round-of-32 stage, while Kitara had to come through the preliminary round to set up the tie.

Kitara are competing in the CAF Confederation Cup after winning the Uganda Cup. Al Ahly qualified for the tournament after finishing third in the Egyptian league.
