Mofokeng helps Royale Union Saint-Gilloise earn Europa League draw against Real Sociedad
Bafana Bafana winger Relebohile Mofokeng played the full match as Royale Union Saint-Gilloise drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League.
The 20-year-old, formerly of Orlando Pirates, started for the Belgian club and completed all 90 minutes as he continues to establish himself as an important member of the team.
Real Sociedad took the lead shortly after half-time when Benat Turrientes scored in the 46th minute. Royale Union Saint-Gilloise responded through Sekou Keita, who restored parity and ensured the points were shared.
The result means Royale Union Saint-Gilloise have taken four points from their opening two matches in the competition, recording one win and one draw.
Mofokeng and his team-mates will next aim to return to winning ways when they host Hapoel Beer Sheva next Thursday.
In the other match involving a South African player, Mihlali Mayambela provided an assist as Omonia secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Celje in their UEFA Europa League fixture.
