Al Ittihad Alexandria sign American guard Frank Mason ahead of December arrival

Al Ittihad Alexandria have announced the signing of American guard Frank Mason to strengthen their basketball squad.

Mason, who plays as a point guard in position one, will join the Egyptian club at the beginning of December. He is scheduled to arrive in Alexandria for a medical examination before linking up with the team.

Head coach Ahmed Omar was impressed by Mason’s abilities, leading the club to complete the deal. The player is expected to help Al Ittihad Alexandria in their upcoming Super League and Egypt Cup campaigns.

Mason has previously played for Skara, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Orlando Magic in the United States. His career has also included spells with Limoges and Nancy in France, as well as Fujian Shunchang in China.

Al Ittihad Alexandria are currently competing in the Damascus International Friendly Tournament, which runs from 8 October until 16 October.

The club, known as Zaeem al-Thaghr, are also preparing for the second round of the Associated League. Al Ittihad Alexandria currently lead Group Two in the competition.
